Remember the location of this cabin is the Forest -- you are a visitor to the home of wildlife - small animals can be seen:
squirrel, rabbit, armadillo, an occasional deer, as well as birds in the trees on the grounds of Whisperwind Cabin.
Use a repellent for insects and avoid poison ivy and poison oak while outdoors.
Remember: "Leaves of Three, Leave them be".
When wandering around outside, be aware of your surroundings, watch your step.
Outdoor activities abound - swimming, hiking, boating, hunting, fishing, golfing, ATV trails,
horseback riding and more during the days throughout the area
plus other choices when one must stay inside: casinos, spas, wineries, and museums, and gift shops.
Please observe quiet hours at the cabin - 11:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. because of others in the area.
Be safe and respectful of the environment - toss matches and cigarette butts into the fire pit -
rather than drop on ground - especially important during the hot and dry seasons. Cigarette butts are trash.
Abide by the rules - when the Forest Service sets a fire ban, it is only when danger is high for forest fires.
Always leave burned sticks of wood in the fire ring -- next guest can use to start their campfire.
The firewood is for campfires during your stay. Never leave a fire unattended. No fireworks.
Do not clean out the fire pit.
A single hot ember could spark a fire that could cause a wild fire to spread through the entire forest.
Remember, Smokey the Bear said "Only you can prevent a forest fire"
We want you to enjoy your time in the area - remember others will follow you.
Take photos but leave no trace - trash is unsightly - as well as being a health
hazard for little animals and birds that might swallow something carelessly
tossed on the ground. Carry empty containers and packages to the nearest trash bin.
